DIY Mardi Gras Jester Grapevine Wreath
DIY Mardi Gras Jester Grapevine Wreath
This week our floral designer Tim used Deco Mesh, Mardi Gras Accents and a Grapevine Wreath to create a fun and festive wreath for the upcoming Mardi Gras season. Mardi Gras is earlier this year and will be here before you know it. You can make one of these too by following the steps listed below
Supplies needed:
- (1) 18" Round Grapevine Wreath
- (1) 20" Metal Embossed Mardi Gras Jester Sign
- (1) 10" Mardi Gras Mega Metallic Striped Deco Mesh
- (1) 2.5" Mardi Gras Jester Legs Metallic Ribbon
- (1) 2.5" Mardi Gras Metallic Striped Wired Ribbon
- (3) 26" Mardi Gras Glitter Bead Spike Spray
- (3) 30" Mardi Gras Sequin Mask Spray
- Wire Cutters
- Scissors
- Hot Glue
- Floral Wire
- To get started first make sure you have gathered all of the necessary supplies. Remember, that you can sub any items that you want to better fit your personal preference.
- Tim first tied the Mesh to the wreath using pieces of floral wire. He made puffs or loops out of the mesh and secured them to the wreath. He left a small space open at the bottom of the wreath where the Jester sign will sit.
- To give the wreath more fullness, Tim double backed over the first layer of Mesh to create a second layer.
- Tim next attached the Metal Jester Sign using floral wire to the empty space at the bottom of the wreath.
- Tim then used both of the Mardi Gras ribbons to tie 5 2-loop bows. He placed one in between each of the Mesh puffs on the wreath.
- Next Tim started adding the floral accents. He cut off the majority of the stem from the Bead Spike Spray and then twisted each piece into a short curly. He used hot glue on the end of each spray to secure it to the wreath.
- The Tim added the Mardi Gras Mask Spray to the wreath by cutting each stem into smaller sections and placing them around the outside edge of the wreath.
- Once the Mardi Gras Mask Sprays have been added you can come to a stopping point if you wish or you can continue to add any leftover materials that you may have. We hope that you enjoy this festive Mardi Gras Wreath throughout the season!
