Read on to discover the inspiration behind this exquisite design and how it came to life. You can create one of your very own using the steps and supplies listed below
Supplies needed:
- (1) Cemetery Saddle Casket Piece Frame
- (1) Floral Styrofoam Block
- (3) 17" Pink & White Mixed Floral Bush
- (1) 18" Dark Pink Artificial Rose Bush
- (1) Silk Leather Leaf Bush
- Hot Glue
- Wire Cutters
- Before getting started make sure you have gathered all of the necessary supplies. This Memorial Saddle can be recreated with any color or style of Floral Bushes. Just make sure you have the same number of bushes that is used in this project.
- Tim began this Memorial Saddle by placing the Styrofoam Block on the metal Saddle Frame. He put hot glue on each of the metal prongs and then pushed the Styrofoam down onto the frame. The Hot Glue will help secure the Styrofoam to the frame.
- Once the Styrofoam was on the metal frame Tim then began to add the Leather Leaf Fern to create the base of the design. He cut a little of the length off of each stem and placed them on the outside edge of the Styrofoam. He went around the base creating a skirt of Leather Leaf. He then moved up onto the surface of the Styrofoam and created another layer of the skirt. He made sure to add Hot Glue to the end of each stem before placing it in the Styrofoam.
- Once all of the Leather Leaf Fern had been added, Tim began to add the floral bushes. He cut each of the Pink & White Mixed Floral Bushes into separate sections and added the flowers in the same pattern as the Leather Leaf. He worked in sections around all sides of the Saddle making sure to evenly distribute the flowers and colors.
- After adding all of the main flowers Tim filled in the saddle with the Dark Pink Rose Bush. He also cut this into multiple sections and then added Hot Glue to the end of each stem.
- You can come to a stopping point once you are happy with the overall fullness of the Saddle. You will now have a gorgeous Memorial Saddle that can be used to honor your loved one throughout Spring and into Summer.
