DIY Spooky Spider Arrangement

This week our floral designer Tim mixed whimsical Halloween Spiders with floral touches to create the perfect arrangement to use throughout October! He used 4 different stems and one greenery bush to create this look. We love that this piece can be recreated very easily and it can also be customized by swapping out any of the accents or florals used. You can create one of your very own using the steps and supplies listed below.

Supplies needed:

  • To get started, make sure you have gathered all of the necessary supplies.

  • Tim started this arrangement by cutting the styrofoam block in half and then hot gluing it to the bottom of the container.

  • He then cut individual pieces off of the Maidenhair Fern Bush to create the base for the arrangement. He utilized the longer pieces off of the Bush first and placed them in the center of the arrangement. This helped cover the majority of the styrofoam. He worked around the front of the container making sure the Maidenhair draped over the front of the bowl.

  • Next Tim began to add the florals. He added the two Belles of Ireland stems first. He staggered the two together in the back center of the arrangement. Then he added the purple Larkspur stems in front of the Belles of Ireland stems. He cut these a little bit shorter than the other stems.

  • After the florals had been added Tim began to work on adding the Halloween elements. He trimmed the majority of the length off of the Spider stem and placed their happy faces front and center in the arrangement.

  • Next he added the Metallic Purple Leaves to the back of the arrangement. This gave more texture and height to the arrangement. He added these pieces individually.

  • To finish out this arrangement, Tim tied a small three loop bow out of the Diagonal Stripes Ribbon. He tied this with floral wire and then attached it to the front of the arrangement.

  • When you have added the bow you can come to a stopping point. You will have a unique arrangement to use anywhere in your home throughout the spookiest season!
