DIY Patriotic Mesh Teardrop

This week we are welcoming the Patriotic Season with this fun & festive Patriotic Mesh Teardrop. Our floral designer Tim used a variety of Mesh, Ribbon and Floral Accents when creating this piece. You can create one of your very own using the steps and supplies listed below. 

Supplies needed:

• (1) 32" Evergreen Teardrop
• (1) 10" Metallic Deco Mesh - Red 
• (1) 10" Metallic Deco Mesh - Royal Blue
• (1) 34" Red. White and Blue Curly Spray
• (2) 24" Patriotic Stars & Twist Spray
• (2) 26" Firecracker Twig Spray
• (1) 2.5" Red Flat Glitter Patriotic Ribbon
• (1) 2.5" Royal Blue Glitter Ribbon
• (1) 2.5" Patriotic Stars & Stripes Ribbon
• Hot Glue
• Wire Cutters
• Scissors
• Floral Wire

• To get started, first make sure to gather all of your necessary supplies. 

• Tim began by stacking both pieces of Mesh together and then tying them to the top branches of the Teardrop. He then made loops with the Mesh working back and forth across the Teardrop. He did this until he reached the end of the Teardrop. He used the branches to tie the Mesh down. 

• Next Tim tied a 4 loop stacked bow using the ribbon he selected. He left the tails long on the bow and then looped them through the rest of the Teardrop. He cut the tails at the very bottom of the Teardrop into a dove tail. 

• Next Tim began adding the Floral Accents. He cut the Patriotic Stars & Twist Spray into multiple sections. He placed two in the top of the Teardrop using hot glue to secure them. Then he added two more throughout the body of the Teardrop.

• Then Tim worked with Red, White & Blue Curly Spray. He also cut this spray into multiple sections and then distributed them throughout the Teardrop. 

• The last spray that Tim added is the Firecracker Spray. He cut this spray into multiple sections and distributed the Firecrackers throughout the Teardrop evenly. He placed them staggered along the mid and lower sections. He also used the wispy pieces on the sides and top of the Teardrop. 

• When you have finished adding all of the floral accents you can come to a stopping point. Your finished Teardrop will be the perfect piece to welcome Friends & Family throughout the Summer months.
